HCSO Detectives Arrest Music Teacher for Sexually Battering a Student

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Detectives arrested a music teacher for sexual battery on one of his students.

In March 2022, a father signed up his 15-year-old child for guitar lessons at the Music Showcase located at 402 Oakfield Dr. in Tampa. Once a week, the child would have music lessons with the teacher, 34-year-old Jason Troche. Beginning in June 2022 until September 2022, Troche had sexual contact with his student multiple times. The student did not consent to this sexual contact during the lessons with the teacher. Troche also sent inappropriate messages through social media to his student.

"It’s upsetting that a person put into a position of trust and care for one of our children has violated that trust with his disgusting actions," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We’re not done with this case. We continue to investigate, and ask if there are any more victims of this music teacher, to please reach out to us. Let us seek justice for you, and get you the help and care you will need."

Jason Troche admitted to investigators he knew the victim was underage, and that he had sexual relations with the victim.

Anyone with additional information, or feels they may have been a victim of Jason Troche is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813)247-8200.
