Patrol Services

The Department of Patrol Services is under the command of Colonel David Arthur. The department is divided into five geographic districts.

Colonel Arthur was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Pennsylvania. He started in law enforcement as a Reserve Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Colonel Arthur began his full-time career with HCSO in 2002 while assigned to District 3 patrol. Throughout his tenure, he has worked on numerous assignments to include: Street Crimes Unit, Warrants Section, Sheriff's Targeted Area Response Squad, and the Training Division. Colonel Arthur also served as a member of SWAT for over ten years. Prior to his promotion to Major, he was assigned as the Deputy Division Commander for the Homeland Security Division.

Colonel Arthur is a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a life member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida, and a Master of Arts Degree in Homeland Security from American Military University.
