Colonel Kristi Poore is the commander of the Department of Administrative Support. Colonel Poore has been in law enforcement and employed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office for the past 20 years. Prior to her law enforcement career, Colonel Poore attended the University of South Florida on a Women's Basketball scholarship and ultimately received a Bachelors Degree in Criminology. With a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Troy University, Colonel Poore has held numerous positions throughout her career, most of which were investigative in nature. She attended the Senior Management Institute for Police through the Police Executive Research Forum, and is also a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, Session 270. Her experience ranges from detention, patrol, street crimes, and training, to serving as a supervisor in the Special Investigations Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and Internal Affairs.
A supporter of the Spring of Tampa Bay and the Children's Leukemia Society, Colonel Poore possesses a strong belief in giving back to the community by interacting with and mentoring the youth of Tampa Bay. She spends her free time either coaching athletics at the Boys and Girls Club or on the waters of Tampa Bay boating with her family and friends.
