Explorer Post

Explorer Post 238 is a program designed for youth ages 14 through 20, who are interested in a law enforcement or related career. Explorers train in various areas of the law enforcement operations such as:

  • Hostage negotiations
  • Domestic violence
  • Crime scene
  • Bomb threat response
  • First aid

Post 238 also participates in the ride-a-long program with patrol deputies.

FAQs

Members of Explorer Post 238 are exposed to and receive training in various divisions within the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to include Crime Scene, Patrol Tactics, Legal, Firearm training, etc. Members have the opportunity to obtain community service hours by volunteering for HCSO Charities events, as well as, compete in local and national competitions.

Once we receive your application, one of the Explorer Post 238 advisors will email you with more information on Orientation and the next steps in the application process. 

There is a one time $30 application fee and a $2 weekly post fee.

Explorer Post 238 has meetings every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm.
