SEVEN-TIME CONVICTED FELON ARRESTED

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a seven-time convicted felon and gang associate in Riverview.

On January 10, 2024, Wayne Story, 30, was arrested after failing his probation check. The arrest comes from a joint operation with HCSO and the Florida Department of Corrections.

Gang Unit detectives and District IV Patrol deputies arrived at Summer Springs Drive in Riverview after Wayne Story's probation officer found in his room two Glock gun cases full of ammunition and magazines during an initial probation search.

Detectives located multiple bullets of different calibers and multiple gun magazines for both firearms, including one drum magazine, a pistol holster, and a rifle scope.

"The diligence of our detectives in uncovering firearms and ammunition during this probation check is a testament to their commitment to keeping our streets safe," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Individuals with a criminal history must follow the law. We will not tolerate individuals who jeopardize the well-being of our community, and we will pursue every measure to ensure accountability."

Story was charged with:

  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm (X2)
  • Possession of Cannabis less than 20 Grams
  • Violation of Parole - Possession of Marijuana over 20 Grams

This investigation remains ongoing; any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
