The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting in the Progress Village area.
On Friday, March 20, 2020, at 10:40 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls in reference to gunshots being fired in the area of 81st Street S. and Ash Avenue.
As deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a male with a gunshot wound.
The male was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where despite attempted life-saving measures, the male was pronounced deceased.
HCSO detectives are in the early stages of this investigation but do not believe this was a random act.
