The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a student at Davidsen Middle School for bringing a knife onto school grounds.
On May 22, 2025, school administrators received a tip regarding a student possibly in possession of a weapon.
An administrative search was conducted, and a knife was located in a student's bookbag.
The student, Miguel Figueroa, 13, was charged with one count of Possession of a Weapon on School Property.
"This type of behavior is dangerous and unacceptable," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We take every threat to school safety seriously, and I commend the swift actions of school staff and our deputies to ensure no one was harmed. Our priority will always be protecting our students and maintaining a safe learning environment."
This is an active investigation and any further information will come from the Public Affairs Office.
