Sheriff Chronister Announces $40K Raised for Injured Deputies

UPDATE: November 21, 2023, 3:30 p.m.

Sheriff Chad Chronister,  and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, are overwhelmed with gratitude and honored to announce that $40,000 has been raised by the local community to support the deputies who sustained severe injuries while responding to a call on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

This outstanding display of support and generosity has allowed Sheriff Chronister to present Corporal Carlos Britto and Deputy Manny Santos each with a $20,000 check, in recognition of their dedication and sacrifice.

While the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is covering the medical expenses for Corporal Brito and Deputy Santos, their path to recovery is long and challenging.

Sheriff Chad Chronister shares his sentiments, "The outpouring of support from our community leaves me humbled and grateful. At this time, the focus for Corporal Brito and Deputy Santos should be solely on their recovery. This contribution significantly alleviates the financial burden that accompanies their injuries, providing a much-needed respite to their families during the holiday season. It serves as a powerful reminder that in times of need, our community comes together with unity and compassion, lightening the load our brave deputies carry as they strive towards complete healing."
