41 Arrested for DUI after Cinco de Mayo Holiday Weekend

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office conducted "Operation Salted Rim," a collaborative, joint-agency initiative to prevent and remove impaired drivers from our roads and ensure a safe Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 5, 2025.

During the operation, from Friday, May 2, 2025, through Monday, May 5, 2025, HCSO deputies, working collectively with the Tampa Police Department and Temple Terrace Police Department, enhanced DUI enforcement and conducted hundreds of traffic stops, made dozens of arrests and contributed to a safer weekend and holiday.

HCSO's Operation Salted Rim Results:

  • Citations: 23
  • Warnings: 326
  • DUI Arrests: 41
  • Other Arrests: 1

"If you choose to drink and drive, you're not just breaking the law; you're gambling with someone else's future. Don't turn a night out into a lifetime of regret," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Thank you to our deputies and partner agencies for continuing to protect those who drive on our roadways intending to return home safely and for removing the dangerous individuals who don't."
