Teen Arrested for Making Electronic Threat

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a teen for making an electronic threat.

On May 27, 2026, HCSO was notified that Valentino Pileggi, 17, sent several threatening messages to a student at Lennard High School.

Pileggi was previously arrested in March 2026 for Possession of a Weapon on School Property after he brought a knife to the high school. He no longer attends Lennard High School.

During the investigation, deputies learned Pileggi was seen carrying a black backpack near the school. On May 28, 2026, deputies detained Pileggi in a neighborhood near the school. Pileggi admitted to sending the threats with his phone.

Pileggi was arrested and has been charged with:

  • Written or Electronic Threat to Kill or Do Bodily Injury
  • Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communications Device

"There is zero tolerance for threats targeting anyone in our community, but especially a vulnerable student," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This suspect has shown repeatedly that he is willing to break the law, and we will not allow this to continue without serious consequences. Never be afraid to come forward if you or someone you know is being threatened."

This is an active investigation, and any update will come from the Public Affairs Office.
