Stephen Jones, Captain

Captain Stephen Jones was born and raised in St. Petersburg. He began his career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2008 and currently serves as the Deputy Division Commander for Jail Division II.

Throughout his career, Captain Jones has served in several capacities as a detention deputy, including Field Training Deputy and Transportation Deputy, before being promoted to sergeant in 2015. As a supervisor, he has overseen operations in General Population, Confinement Housing, Medical Housing, and Central Booking. Prior to his current assignment, Captain Jones served as a lieutenant in the Training Division.

Captain Jones earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Florida A&M University. He has been married for 12 years and is the father of two children.
