Keeping Our Kids Safe, Together

Keep kids safe online this school year

Know the risks

Predators
Fake identities to gain trust and isolate kids

Scammers
Manipulation through secrecy and pressure

Cyberbullying
What happens online has real-world consequences

What parents should do

  • Know what apps your child uses and who they talk to
  • Have regular conversations about internet safety
  • Use parental controls and check devices when needed
  • Teach kids not to share location, school, or routines

Tell your child
If someone makes them uncomfortable, pressures them to keep secrets, or asks to move the chat to another app, tell a trusted adult immediately.

"We refuse to let them succeed. The strongest defense is an informed, engaged parent."
- Sheriff Chad Chronister, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office
