UPDATE, JUNE 20, 2026:
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is releasing the names of those involved in the death investigation in Brandon on June 18, 2026.
Katherine Luz Evans, 52, is the victim located deceased at the scene.
Anthony David Evans, 62, is considered the suspect and was pronounced deceased at TGH.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing, and we cannot release more information on the manner of death until the Medical Examiner's Office finalizes its report.
ORIGINAL RELEASE, JUNE 18, 2026:
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a death investigation in Brandon.
On June 18, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m., deputies responded to Burlwood Street for reports of a shooting inside a residence.
Once on scene, deputies located two adults with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. An adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene. An adult male was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
At this time, this appears to be a domestic-related incident, and all parties involved have been accounted for.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Any other information will be released by the Public Affairs Office as the investigation allows.
