Serial Car Thief Apprehended

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's Auto Theft Squad has successfully apprehended a subject responsible for a spree of high-end car thefts.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 4 p.m., detectives observed Schilling returning to and starting the stolen Dodge Challenger. He did attempt to evade deputies and caused damage to an HCSO vehicle and two citizen's vehicles. A short foot pursuit ensued between Schilling and our deputies before he was successfully taken into custody. During an interrogation with detectives Schilling openly admitted he was involved in 12 other high-end Dodge thefts from various agencies over the past two months.

He was charged with the following:

  • Grand Theft Motor Vehicle

  • Aggravated Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer

  • Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
