The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for making online threats.
On September 27, 2025, Christopher Allen Colontonio, 29, a former employee who was terminated from the Amazon Fulfillment Center located in Ruskin, sent two emails threatening the company after his termination.
Through investigative means, detectives determined that the emails were sent by Colontonio, who later admitted to sending both messages.
On October 1, 2025, Christopher Allen Colontonio was arrested on one count of Written or Electronic Threat to Kill or Do Bodily Injury and one count of Written or Electronic Threat to Conduct a Mass Shooting or Act of Terrorism.
"We will not tolerate anyone who tries to intimidate or spread fear in our community," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This is a clear reminder that words have consequences. If you think you can hide behind a keyboard and threaten the safety of others, you are mistaken. Our detectives will find you, and you will be held accountable."
This remains an active investigation, and any updates will come from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Public Affairs Office.
