In the midst of tragedy, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is hopeful in sharing the latest update regarding the fatal train versus vehicle crash investigation.
The front seat passenger involved in the crash, Guillermo Gama, while still in critical condition and intubated, is expected to survive. His injuries are extensive and include a brain bleed, ruptured kidney, and bruised lung.
"I can't speak enough about the power of a community coming together to support and pray for the victims, families, and first responders involved in this heart-wrenching crash," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We are hopeful about this young man's recovery and remain committed to not only the investigation but the healing of all those impacted."
