On January 19, 2020, at 12:37 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call referencing a shooting on the 700 block of Oceanside Circle.
Once on scene, deputies found an adult male who had been shot in the front yard. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives believe the deceased male was at the home with a female acquaintance. At some point, the male assaulted the female with a knife. The female called another male acquaintance to the home for help.
Detectives say at the two men had an altercation in the front yard of the home. At some point, the male, armed with a knife, stabbed the second male. The second male then arms himself with a firearm and shoots the male armed with a knife.
The male who was stabbed was transported to TGH and is in stable condition. The female at the scene was also transported to the hospital as a precaution.
At this time, no charges have been filed. The investigation is active and ongoing. No other details will be released from the scene. All updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
